Summary: PocketLLM is a privacy-first AI chat app that runs entirely on your device. By using it, you agree to use it responsibly, accept that AI outputs may be inaccurate, and understand that individual model licenses apply.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using PocketLLM ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
PocketLLM is an iOS application that enables you to:
- Download open-source AI language models to your device.
- Chat with AI models that run entirely on your device's hardware.
- Manage, export, and delete your conversations locally.
All AI processing occurs on your device. PocketLLM does not operate servers that process your conversations.
3. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PocketLLM for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
4. AI Model Licenses
PocketLLM provides access to third-party open-source AI models. Each model is subject to its own license terms, which you must accept before downloading. These licenses include but are not limited to:
- Llama 3 Community License (Meta)
- Apache License 2.0
- Tongyi Qianwen License (Alibaba)
- Other open-source licenses as indicated per model
You are responsible for complying with each model's license terms. PocketLLM displays license information and requires your explicit acceptance before model download.
5. AI-Generated Content
Content generated by AI models through PocketLLM:
- May be inaccurate — AI models can produce incorrect, misleading, or nonsensical information. Do not rely on AI outputs for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
- Is not endorsed by us — Generated content does not represent the views or opinions of PocketLLM.
- Is your responsibility — You are solely responsible for how you use, share, or act on AI-generated content.
6. Subscriptions
PocketLLM offers optional Pro subscriptions:
- Free tier — Access to select models with daily message limits.
- Pro tier — Access to all models, unlimited messages, and additional features.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store. Payment processing, billing, auto-renewal, and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple and subject to Apple's Terms. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use PocketLLM to:
- Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or redistribute AI model weights beyond what their respective licenses permit.
- Circumvent any technical limitations or security measures in the App.
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
8. Intellectual Property
PocketLLM, its design, code, and branding are owned by PocketLLM and protected by intellectual property laws. The open-source AI models available through PocketLLM are owned by their respective creators and subject to their respective licenses.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
PocketLLM is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or useful.
- The App will be compatible with all devices or iOS versions.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PocketLLM shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content.
Since all processing occurs on your device, PocketLLM has no access to or control over your data, conversations, or how you use AI-generated content.
11. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use PocketLLM. Apple may terminate your access to the App per their App Store policies. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it, which removes all local data.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
