Privacy Policy

The short version: The PocketLLM app processes everything on your device — we don't collect your data, track your usage, or see your conversations. The website uses Google Analytics for visitor stats; if you submit your email to the waitlist we store that email plus standard signup metadata (see section 7a). Unsubscribing stops all emails immediately; we keep your record marked as unsubscribed unless you email us for full deletion.
1. Information We Don't Collect
PocketLLM is designed from the ground up to operate without collecting personal information:
- No user accounts — You never sign up or log in. There are no usernames, passwords, or profiles.
- No conversation data — Your conversations with AI models are stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage. We never see, access, or transmit your conversations.
- No usage analytics — The app contains zero telemetry, analytics SDKs, or tracking code.
- No advertising identifiers — We don't use IDFA, fingerprinting, or any form of device tracking.
- No crash reporting — We don't include third-party crash reporting services.
2. On-Device Processing
All AI inference happens locally on your device:
- AI models run on your iPhone's Neural Engine, GPU, or CPU.
- Your messages are never sent to any server for processing.
- Model responses are generated entirely on-device.
- The app works fully offline after initial model download.
3. Network Requests
PocketLLM makes network requests only in two situations:
- Model downloads — When you choose to download an AI model, the app downloads model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is user-initiated and required only once per model. No personal data is sent with these requests.
- Subscription management — If you subscribe to PocketLLM Pro, Apple's StoreKit handles all payment processing. We never see your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.
4. Local Data Storage
Data stored on your device includes:
- Conversations — Stored in an encrypted Core Data database on your device.
- AI models — Downloaded model files stored in the app's sandboxed container. You can delete models at any time.
- App preferences — Settings like selected model, theme, and biometric lock preference stored via UserDefaults.
- License acceptances — Records of which open-source model licenses you've accepted.
All local data is protected by iOS sandboxing. If you enable biometric lock, your conversations are additionally protected by Face ID or Touch ID.
5. Biometric Authentication
PocketLLM optionally supports Face ID and Touch ID to lock the app. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS — we never access, store, or process biometric information. Authentication is performed by the Secure Enclave on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
PocketLLM is rated 4+ and does not collect data from any user, including children under 13. Since no personal information is collected, COPPA compliance is inherent in our design.
7. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — Handles subscription purchases. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Hugging Face — Hosts AI model files for download. Subject to Hugging Face's Privacy Policy. No PocketLLM user data is shared with Hugging Face.
This website (pocketllm.app) uses Google Analytics for visitor statistics. The PocketLLM iOS app does not include Google Analytics or any analytics.
7a. Waitlist Email Signups (Website Only)
If you submit your email to the PocketLLM waitlist via this website, we store the following on Cloudflare D1 to operate the signup and announcement emails:
- Your email address.
- Approximate signup metadata: timestamp, IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention), user agent, the page you signed up from, and the referring domain (e.g.
chatgpt.com,news.ycombinator.com). - UTM parameters (
utm_source/medium/campaign/content) and Google Analytics IDs from the URL or cookies, used to understand which channels drive signups.
We use this only to send occasional product announcements (e.g. desktop / Android availability), and to attribute traffic. We use Resend as our email service provider when we send those announcements, and Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on the form. We do not run a recurring drip / nurture series — emails are ad-hoc, sent only when there's news.
Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing immediately stops all future emails. You can request full deletion of your record any time at [email protected].
This signup data is only collected if you voluntarily enter your email on this website. The PocketLLM iOS app collects none of it.
8. Data Deletion
App data is stored locally on your device:
- Delete individual conversations within the app.
- Delete downloaded AI models within the app's settings.
- Uninstalling PocketLLM removes all app data from your device.
If you submitted your email via the website waitlist, that record is the only server-side data we hold. Click the unsubscribe link in any email we send you to stop further emails, or write to [email protected] to have your record fully deleted.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If you've signed up to the waitlist, we will email material changes; otherwise we encourage you to review this page periodically.
